The group was started by Walter Schreifels, who had previously played in such bands as Gorilla Biscuits, Youth Of Today, Quicksand, and Rival Schools, and he brought along drummer Drew Thomas, who was also a veteran of the NYHC and alt metal scenes having played in Bold, Youth Of Today, and Into Another, as well as Ryan Stratton and Jeffrey Johnson. The band was a departure for Schreifels,
