Germany, Wehrmacht. A 1939 Clasp To The Iron Cross I Class, Type Ii, By B.h. Mayer Hold On the handle(Wiederholungsspange 1939 zum Eisernen Kreuz 1. Klasse 1914). Reinstituted 1 September 1939. (1940 1945 issue). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a Wehrmacht eagle perched on top of a wreathed mobile swastika, in turn set above a trapezoidal plaque bearing a raised date of 1939, the reverse with a barrel hinge and flattened vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of a version
