Germany, Third Reich. A U-Boat War Badge, By Friedrich Orth, Variation Two Archive Stamped bronze(U Boot Kriegsabzeichen). Re instituted on October 13, 1939. (Issued 1939 1945). An oval laurel wreath constructed of gilded zink, tied together at the base via a ribbon, with a national eagle placed on top of the badge clutching a mobile swastika, and a submarine in the center of the badge, the reverse plain, with a horizontal needle style pinback, a sheet metal hinge, and a round wire catch, marked f. o for Friedrich Orth on the reverse, but also
