They even changed their call letters to the amazing WHVY. The station advertised themselves as playing the best in heavy metal, even when grunge was rising into prominence. Maybe that was bad timing on their end. But after only a year in business, the WHVY changed over to broader rock formatting and to a new frequency. This original WHVY 96. 7
