Constructed of gilded and silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central depiction of a coastal artillery gun with its barrel raised and extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a block hinge and banjo style pinback meeting a flat wire catch,
