An extremely well preserved first pattern SS overseas cap, constructed of field grey wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold down side walls which slope downward toward the front. Stitched onto the left side of the walls is an insignia consisting of a black wool backer overlaid by a machine embroidered, silver grey, SS style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, measuring 90 mm (w) x 42 mm (h).
