Constructed of silvered feinzink, affixed with four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate and field grey wool twill backer, the obverse consisting of a shield with crossed swords, topped by a plane and above a raised date of 1942, in turn topped by an inscription of DEMJANSK and a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by log pillboxes, unmarked, the shield measuring 51. 95 mm (w) x
