When it has dried and is gessoed the artist applies a white joint compound mixture which when dried quickly will create a beautifully cracked surface. After darkening the cracks she covers the surface with encaustic wax ( bees wax and dry pigment ) which makes a smooth blended surface. The inner panel is created by assembling hand rusted found objects into different arrangements on a metal printed
