This particular example is silk devore velvet (a velvet fabric with a raised pattern created by disintegrating some of the pile with chemicals, also known as "burnt" velvet) with a touch of sparkle in the velvet. The dress has small shoulder pads, is lined in silk chiffon, and all of the edges are cased in silk chiffon, and it closes with a hidden
